Who
We Are

Island of Lost Maps Book Cover

Every book we design is important to us.

We are a custom design firm. Our portfolio includes New York Times best-sellers, Pulitzer prize winners, and National Book Award winners, as well as successful self-published titles and small press editions.

Regardless of the print run, we work with every author to create the best visual representation of their work that is unique, marketable, and salable. Good, considered cover design enhances any publication, whether it is read by a hundred readers or hundreds of thousands of readers.

Something you’ve spent months, maybe even years writing, deserves a well thought out and professional cover design.

ABOUT US

Andy Carpenter is the Creative Director and founder of ACD Book Cover Design. He has over 25 years experience in design and art direction at New York publishing houses. He was Vice-president/art director at Random House, St. Martin’s Press, and Rodale and a consultant for several other small publishers.

Andy’s interests are in self-publishing, small presses, e-books, and green printing. He is a frequent speaker on design at publishing events and held a board position at The Small Press Center for 5 years. Although a fan of e-books, he is also dedicated to the printed book and is a collector of early leather bound editions, first editions, and hard cover/jacketed pulp fiction from the 1940s and 50s.

At ACD Book Cover Design We Know You Do Judge a Book by its Cover

First impressions count. Every book is judged by its cover—whether it is a printed book or e-book—covers matter.

Our experience working with national sales forces, marketers, sales reps, wholesalers and chain store buyers to create visuals that will sell, comes together to create a printed book cover or e-book cover design that will represent your book with the best possible design.
